PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Dr Andreas Vassiliou is a Counselling Psychologist and Existential Psychotherapist, with an academic background in the social sciences and psychology, and extensive clinical training in counselling psychology and psychotherapy. He holds a doctoral degree in Existential Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, as well as professional registrations and accreditations in Cyprus and the United Kingdom.

His clinical practice draws on the existential-phenomenological tradition and Lacanian psychoanalysis, with particular attention to the singularity of each person’s experience and way of speaking. 

Since 2008, he has worked in clinical and educational settings in Cyprus and the United Kingdom, including the UK National Health Service, psychiatric and community mental health services, the Cyprus Social Welfare Services and higher education. His professional experience includes clinical work with adults, children, adolescents, couples and families, as well as clinical and research supervision.

Alongside his private practice, he currently works with the University of Nicosia as a clinical supervisor. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor of Psychology and Professional Practice Lead for the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology programme at Regent’s University London.
